A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux

KartMaker  was developed as a student project at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. Its goal is to enable game design students to explore the intricacies of balancing different Karts in racing games. The game allows you to modify all values of a kart that influence its driving behaviour such as top speed, breaking power and acceleration. The kart can the be taken for a spin on the racetrack. Once a race is finished, another kart can be designed and the player can compete against the "ghost" of the old kart to compare their competitiveness.

Please let us know if you are planning to use this project as part of your Game Design teaching! We'd love to hear your feedback (and that of your students) to further improve KartMaker.

KartMaker was developed by Muriel Häner and Evelyine Haas.

Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Richard Wetzel
